As followers of Christ we are in the middle of a conflict the that's been raging for thousands of years – a spiritual battle pitting two errors about evil. One is to disbelieve the existence of devils, the other is to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. This study takes a deeper look at the truth about Satan, demons, and the pervasive evil in the paranormal world, examining what we've been given in Christ to stand against the forces of evil. We don't need to be afraid.
The six sessions in this study are titled:
Satan, Demons, The Paranormal, Fear Not!, Battle Armor, and Battle Plan.
THIS JUST IN (Aug. 21, 2017):
"As a part of our capital stewardship campaign, Building by Faith ... all Sunday Bible Study groups, from Adult down to Preschool, will be presenting a four-week series entitled To Whom Much is Given. ... Each week (Oct. 15-Nov.5), we will have copies of each in your Sunday School Attendance Box. We will take a short break from our normal Sunday Bible Study material. On Sunday, November 12, you can go back to the material you were teaching."
As we move into mid-November we will look at our Second Nature. In Christ, Christians are given a new nature, new desires, new tastes, and a new lifestyle. As we grow we will develop consistent patterns of living, thinking, believing and acting that become so ingrained in us that we scarcely even think about them. Through the lives of seven biblical characters we will bring out some of those patterns that grow out of our belief in the gospel. We will be challenged to actively develop these character traits until they become second nature.
The seven sessions will look at:
- Caleb: Unwavering Faith
- Solomon: Unfailing Wisdom
- Ruth: All-in Commitment
- Barnabas: Ongoing Encouragement
- John: Single-minded Focus
- Hannah: Trust-filled Prayer
- Andrew: Active Witness
