If you want to read something that is in the dark you will need some source of light.
Humanity is "in the dark" about its relationship with God.
How can humanity learn more about it if they don't HAVE a relationship with God? Can they just "feel" their relationship with God? Smell it? Taste it? Hear it? See it?
If they are in the dark they will need a light source, and probably someone that can explain its meanings. That is the point of today's study. Jesus reveals God's glory and love.
