The Nature of Sin

We are sinners, and on our own, we can do nothing about it.

Isaiah 59:1-13

“The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save...your iniquities are separating you from your God...”

[Spider’s webs] “cannot become clothing,” they just don’t cover well or hold up.  Neither can you “cover [your]self with [your] works” and expect them to hold up to God’s standard.

"Our iniquities: 

• transgression and deception...
• turning away from following our God, 
• speaking oppression and revolt, 
• conceiving and [then] uttering lying words from the heart.”

The nature of sin means not that we are “God forsaken”, but rather that we have “forsaken God."
